Purpose of Unit:

The purpose of this unit is to introduce students to a wide range or ideas, concepts and phenomena’s in the biological field of genetics. Within genetics we will be focusing on but not limiting us to, Gregor Mendel, P, F1, and F2 generations, genes and trait with the concept of dominance, gametes, probability and punnett squares, meiosis. This is linked to National Content Standard C for molecular basis of heredity, which is focused on the transmission of genetic information to offspring and as well as heredity and gene expressions.
